Randi Reichel is the President of Reichel Consulting, Ltd., a company devoted to advocacy and policy development in the insurance and health care arenas.

Prior to founding Reichel Consulting, Randi was Vice President of the State Regulatory and Compliance Division of the American Association of Health Plans (AAHP), a national trade association of managed care organizations and health insurers, with over 1100 members nationwide. There, she coordinated regulatory, legislative and state health policy issues for association members in all fifty states and the District of Columbia, developed grassroots advocacy action plans, and provided expert advice on compliance issues nationwide. She has been a frequent speaker and lecturer before national regulatory associations, state trade, and policy organizations, and has provided expert testimony before state legislature across the country as well as the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, the National Conference of Insurance Legislators and other national organizations with a state focus.

Prior to joining AAHP, Ms. Reichel was in private consulting practice, providing management and policy expertise to health plans around the country. Before joining the consulting world, she spent four years as Associate Commissioner for Life and Health for the Maryland Insurance Administration, where she was responsible for developing and implementing state health and managed care policy for the State of Maryland and prior to that was counsel to the Maryland Insurance Administration, where she litigated in all state and federal courts in Maryland, and provided legal advice to the Administration on a variety of health, life and property/casualty related issues. Randi spent three years in private litigation practice, and a session as legislative counsel to the Maryland House of Delegates.

Ms. Reichel received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, and a law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law.
